Everything good in my life never came easy to me.
Wins in the ring, opportunities to impact kids from the stage, owning one of the most respected training facilities in NY.
They’ve all required massive amounts of struggle, setbacks, confusion and disappointment.
I remember moving to "the Rock" with a vision to change lives and keep kids off the streets.
My wife and I set up shop on the boardwalk- the only place we could afford to train people.
We loaded up our wagon full of gear and dragged it to the boardwalk, every training session rain or shine.
Sometimes it would just be me and her hitting pads, until little by little people started showing up, to find out what it was all about.
Did it suck standing there some days, just the two of us?
Was it necessary?
That was just about 12 years ago now.
Sometimes we question ourselves when things aren’t moving as fast as we need or want them to be.
We look at the things that we don’t have yet and think it’s a sign to give up or that we are not good enough.
One simple concept that I’ve learned over the years is…you will never find what you are NOT looking for.
If you complain and only choose to see the negative output in situations, your brain shuts off all the blessings and the opportunities that we are surrounded by on a daily basis.
Gratitude: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
Look for gratitude today in the little things and remember you always have the power to choose your state of mind.
I am grateful for the opportunity to grow as husband, father and a human being.
I am grateful for my health and the ability to keep building my future.
I am grateful to be coaching men on how to get back in the fight for their own health, well-being and lifestyle of growth…mind and body.
What are you grateful for today?
Stay the course and CHAMP UP!
